About Trailmark School

Rooted in field practice, not theory — we teach the skills that connect people to the land.

Our Mission

Trailmark School was founded to keep primitive wilderness skills alive and accessible. We believe that tracking, fire craft, shelter building, and plant knowledge are not relics of the past, but practical tools for a grounded, resilient life.

Our instructors have logged thousands of hours in the field, from Pacific Northwest rainforest to high desert, and bring that direct experience into every course we run for youth and adults alike.

What We Value

Direct Experience

Every skill is taught hands-on in the field, not from a screen or a textbook.

Small Groups

Low student-to-instructor ratios so every participant gets real coaching time.

Land Stewardship

We teach skills alongside a deep respect for the ecosystems that hold them.
